Shopping at Target on Black Friday

Start by deciding what kind of trip you want. If you want the widest choice, plan to arrive near the opening time. Popular items can sell out as the day goes on, so consider going early if one item matters most.

Pickup and delivery can be useful if you want to avoid crowds. Order early in the day and confirm the pickup details in the Target app. This can save you time in the parking lot and at checkout.

Set a budget before you start so impulse buys do not crowd out the items on your list. Keep your receipts in one place so any returns are simple later.

• Make a short list of the items you want most, with sizes and colors.
• Check the Target app for pickup or delivery options before you leave home.
• Buy everyday items earlier in the week so your Black Friday trip stays focused.
• Have another item in mind in case your first choice sells out.
