Checking Your Hy-Vee Before Christmas Eve

Hy-Vee stores are not all run the same way. Many grocery stores are franchised or independently run, which means the local owner or operator sets the hours for that location. That is a main reason the holiday schedule can differ from one store to the next.

Checking a single store takes only a few minutes. Start with the store locator to find the exact location you plan to visit. Then check the app and the company's holiday hours page for the latest notice.

• Use the store locator to find the exact location and its listed hours.
• Check the app for the store you plan to visit, since it may show updates for that location.
• Call the store directly to confirm it is open and what hours it keeps that day.

Why a Phone Call Is the Surest Check

A phone call is often the most certain step. Ask about the hours on the day and confirm the departments you need, such as the pharmacy or the deli. Those areas may follow their own schedule, so it is worth asking about each one.
