Shopping at Sam's Club on Labor Day

Plan your trip around the hours, since opening times can differ by membership type. If you shop early, it helps to know which group you belong to before you set out.

Shopping earlier in the week can help you avoid crowds at checkout on the holiday itself. Consider writing a list of what you need, such as food for a cookout, so you are not rushing around at the last minute.

• Check your membership type before you set out.
• Buy perishable items close to the day you plan to use them.
• If you use pickup or delivery from the app, confirm the option is available for the holiday before you rely on it.
• Keep a backup plan in case the store is busier than you expect.
